Does anyone know about this apostolate? I have been reading “The Volumes” (Ten books dictated by Jesus, The Blessed Mother, and God Himself. Bishop O'Reily (Anne's Bishop) has read and approved each volume before they could be published. He found them to be congruent with the Catholic Church’s teachings and okay to spread across the world. They seem to be spreading everywhere and are converting souls. They are reminiscent of the "I Am Your Jesus of Mercy," that came out of Scottsdale, AZ in the 80's. Randall Sullivan discusses the Scottsdale events in his book, “Miracle Detective.”

I must say that after read two of these volumes so far , I feel like I should be doing more to serve Our Lord. The message is we are called to service to help Jesus change the world. We all have a mission in this plan. We only need to be still, quiet, and ask what He wants of each of us. He also wants us to offer any sacrifice to Him to save souls. Nothing new in this but the messages are clear, concise and urgent.
I am interested in your experience with this movement and any of your thoughts.
God’s Peace,
Andy

That’s not a new message. You can hear that free of charge from the pulpit every Sunday.

You can also pick that up from Our Lady’s messages at Medjugorje and as far as I know the visionaries do not write or sell books.

Do I sound cynical?

Anne’s apostolate is probably having to take a back seat at the moment. Seems Ireland has found another couple of stars to follow of late – a double act named Joe Coleman and Keith Henderson.

I wonder whatever happened to Christina Gallagher?

I wonder whatever happened to the Two Patricks?

One only has to scan the Irish newspapers and see all the clairvoyant and fortune-telling ads to know that there is a ripe market for anyone wanting to set up business as a visionary or healer in Ireland

God save us from false prophets!

So she's a false prophet? Ok. I wasn't sure who or what she was. I do not have access to Irish newspapers.

I don’t know the answer to this question.

I use to receive all her messages before I relocated from New Mexico to the Philippines for retirement, her organization and everything else about the Lady seemed quite good and I am personally not going to say anything unkind about her.

It seems as though it was found that she had a sort of sordid scandalous past which personally maybe she shouldn't be judged for that because I have also. So right now at present she seems to be doing quite well spiritually which is probably what people should see or feel! So who can say?

Also she had written a couple of books using either her name or a fictitious one which many writers do but with no connection to Anne the Lay Apostle!

The lady has been discussed previously on the forum. The latest thread is at: http://www.medjugorje-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16966

One point I would confirm from this earlier thread is that she is one and the same person as the author Kathryn Ann Clarke

Personally, I remain negative about her claims.

Saint Mary of Magdela had a scandelous past, and there are churches dedicated to her all over the world. OOPPS did Jesus miss something only forum members are able to discern.

Besides, I have been told by relatives in southern Ireland (living just a few miles from Cavan, that the Bishop of Cavan, is a very holy man. If he allows the books etc to be publised, why are people treating his opinion like a piece of trash ?

I read her messages, but haven't really made up my mind yet as to whether it is true or not.

I guess one litmus test is "A tree is known by its fruit." Her apostolate seems to be spreading and converting souls much like Medjugorje. I've read vol 1, 2, and 10. I don't find anything that makes me uneasy in any of the ones I've read. In fact, I feel motivated to sacrifice more, to keep Christ in my heart more and more during the day, and to pray more and more. One message that is reiterated is to find silence. Meet Christ in contemplation. He has a mission for you and in silence He will share it with you. Turn off the TV's, radios, put down the newspapers and seek the Lord. It is very Medjugorje like... I find the material helpful. Another tool toward this journey toward holiness, which I fail at everyday.

God's Peace,

Andy

To Julia, I would just say that no one is trying to 'trash' anyone's opinion, least of all Bishop O'Reilly (who is Bishop of Kilmore, not Cavan). The Bishop does not say Anne's messages are from God. He merely says he finds no problem with her or the content of the messages.

Regarding Anne's other 'persona', Kathryn Ann Clarke, the problem is there seems to be an overlap in the lives of Kathryn and Anne, not that people who led a questionable life cannot go on to become Saints. Mary Magdalene is of course the best example of this and she is my absolutely favourite Saint!

There is however one more matter which, for me, is very troublesome. In 2005, Anne reported that she received locutions from Saint Faustina who told her to spread a devotion to an additional image to the famous Divine Mercy image. The new image is named, "Jesus Christ, The Returning King". According to Anne, Saint Faustina said the following:
"Anne, our missions are destined to be joined. Your mission is an extension of my mission in that it is all part of the Divine Mercy."

I'm sorry, but I cannot 'buy' that. You can read more about this additional 'association' with St. Faustina at: http://www.queenofpeacecenterdallas.org/dfotReturningKing.html

I have heard of Anne the Lay Apostle as well. Seems Ireland is indeed awash with visionaries. Trouble is that most of them really believe that they are truely seeing heavenly visions. Christina Gallagher has been exposed as being a huge fraud and is living in a mansion in County Dublin.

Mary of Magdalene and St. Augustine are my type of Saints I can really relate to them.

I have enjoyed all of Anne's messages and find nothing negative in any of them it's just I feel divided as to what type of credence I should give her!

I wouldn't tell anyone to avoid her!

I've read her books, and they are inspirational. But then I got a mailing from her asking for a donation, I believe to buy a building or something like that. That is a huge red flag for me, as I don't think true visionaries would be sending out direct mailings soliciting donations. The 5 stones of Medjugorje are enough for me...I'll never be done trying to incorporate them all into my life and remaining diligent to them. I just thank God for his mercy and Our Lady's patience with my efforts!
